Uncomfortably Canadian

Uncomfortably Canadian is a blog  updated and created by a Canadian graduate student from the West Coast. Originally from Lekwungen territory (Coastal Salish), Jesse, the author, investigates what it means to be a settler, and what responsibilities such a role might entail.

Created in October of 2012, the author Jesse posts his own thoughts and ideas and complements these with other written articles. The author states that “this is a blog offers alternative historical commentary from the standpoint of someone who accepts his Canadian nationality and wears it like an all-denim outfit… uncomfortably.” He attempts to approach the topics he discusses by giving recognition to the darker aspects of Canadian history.
