Christian Peacemaker Teams: Aboriginal Justice Team

The Aboriginal Justice Team is an initiative of the organization Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT), a non-governmental faith based organization whose mission is to “Build partnerships to transform violence and oppression.” The mandate of the Aboriginal Justice Team is to undo colonialism and support Indigenous communities defending their land against corporate and state injustices.

Their work is two-fold and includes accompaniment and witnessing, as well as an advocacy and education component through church and school presentations, media releases and fact-finding/educational missions. The Aboriginal Justice team carries out its work in both Canada and the United States, and has supported a number of ongoing First Nation struggles, most recently in Elsipogtog, New Brunswick.
