Indigilink is a professional networking site for those working in the field of Indigenous research, development, and policy. It offers links to many different organizations’ pages as well as links to forums and group discussions. It does not discriminate in terms of who can become members, and welcomes people working in a number of different capacities. Members include scholars, policy makers, Elders and community members.
Indigilink is an initiative created by the Aboriginal Policy Research Consortium, which is based out of Western University in London, Ontario. It has been funded by Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada and the International Indigenous Policy Journal. The website targets an audience that consists primarily of people working in the field of Indigenous Studies, including professors, scholars, and community members.
Initiated in 2012, the website works much like other professional networking sites. It allows members to collaborate with each other, as the website offers tools to accomplish team-based tasks. It also allows for the sharing of different multimedia projects and presentations.
