No More Silence: Community Database

No More Silence has partnered with Families of Sisters in Spirit, the Native Youth Sexual Health Network and the Well Living House to start a community database as of January 2, 2014. This database documents violent deaths of Indigenous women/Two-Spirit and Trans people from Ontario First Nations since the 1960s. As stated in their website, “The purpose of the database is to our honour our women and provide family members with a way to document their loved ones passing.” This research methodology is a part of a larger movement of naming, understanding and challenging violence against women.
