The Tatamagouche Centre: Aboriginal Peace and Friendship Partnership

This project is a partnership between the Tatamagouche Centre and the Mennonite Central Committee, in association with the Aboriginal Rights Coalition. Their work is based on bringing together the parties to the Peace and Friendship treaties, signed in the 1700s between the British Crown and local First Nations (Mi’kmaq, Maliseet and Passamaquoddy). In the spirit of its peace and friendship vision, the Tatamagouche Centre offers educational programs annually e.g. Building Non-Violent Indigenous Movements, Peace and Friendship:  Building Our Relationship Together.  The project also encourages new networks, gatherings, educational events and celebrations throughout the Maritimes.
