#AmINext is a social media campaign that was started by Holly Jarrett which asks Indigenous women to post photos of themselves with a sign that reads “AmINext?”. Her intention in starting the campaign was to raise more awareness about the issue of missing and murdered Indigenous women and to spread understanding about the very real threat of violence that Indigenous women face in Canada. Jarrett is the cousin of Loretta Saunders, the Inuit woman from Labrador who was found murdered after going missing from her Halifax apartment in February 2014. Jarrett believes that by raising awareness among non-Indigenous Canadians she can make a real difference in achieving justice for Indigenous women.
