Aboriginal Teacher Education Program – Queen’s University

The Queen’s Aboriginal Teacher Education Program (ATEP) recruits both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students with a university degree who are interested in Aboriginal education.  The program focuses on Aboriginal-specific and student centered learning, application of Aboriginal perspectives and world view (theory and practice), problem solving with peers, and supervised teaching in a First Nations or provincial schools.

“The Aboriginal Teacher Education Program (ATEP) provides an opportunity for teacher candidates to specialize in Aboriginal education, and qualifies graduates for Ontario College of Teachers certification.”
