Oh Canada, Our Home on Native Land

A one-time event, Oh Canada Our Home on Native land was a workshop led by both Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth in Toronto. It was an event created by the Youth Reconciliation Initiative that has Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities of youth mobilizing together. This event was meant to open up space to learn about Indigenous histories and the importance of facilitating a widespread movement of including Indigenous histories in mainstream knowledges. The workshop focused on the importance of the land, relationships to the land, and what it means to call a place home. The workshop also discussed the importance of building cultural solidarity in processes of decolonization and opened up dialogue about what reconciliation could and should look like.
